Linda Yodice, Scott Cole

Linda Yodice

Strength and beauty, cut and color, intellect and artistry, technique and creativity. These characteristics not onIy describe the style Linda Yodice is known for, but they describe the woman herself.

Having a hairstylist mother, Linda grew up around the beauty industry but was captivated by fashion. While studying fashion design, Linda attended a hair show and was completely inspired by the fact that hairdressing was a form of art and hair was the canvas on which it was created. She saw a perfect way to combine her love for aesthetics and her skills in design.

Breaking the mold of the stereotypically ultra-cool, flashy hairdresser, Linda's sophisticated elegance and straight-forward attitude make her a breath of fresh air for the beauty industry. Her bright smile, poise, and disarming laughter, combined with a trigger-sharp wit and uncanny ability to convey her technical experience into layman's terms, make Linda a much sought after expert in the field of cut and color. These abilities recently earned her the distinction of being one of Modern Salon magazine's top 75 educators of all time.

Linda and her partner Scott Cole own the prestigious Scott Cole Salon in Atlanta, Georgia, and Colorcutting USA, the Center for Carefree Education in Carefree, Arizona. Linda's dynamic ability to see and approach color with a perspective different from a stylist who practices haircoloring alone has led to the creation of the block color method. Fast becoming the replacement for weaving, block color techniques have revolutionized color for hair cutters and colorists alike.

As Artistic Director for John Paul Mitchell Systems The Color, Linda has successfully implemented the block color method into The Color education and training programs. The marriage of artistry and education seem to be Linda's forte. After 20 years, she is still discovering new ways to express her creativity through art of colorcutting.

Awards:
2002 - HaircolorUSA: Most Innovative Techniques (complemented haircutting with radiant color placement using techniques such as harlequin and braids)
2003 - Haircolor USA: Hair Colorists of the Year
2003 - John Paul Mitchell Systems: Artists of the Year
2004 - NAHA: Master Hair Stylist of the Year

Scott Cole

"I'm truly a haircutter, that's what I do best. I want to teach hairstylists that color is not as difficult as it looks. I want to show them how to look at the world of color through the eyes of a haircutter and make it fun! 'What I call  'color for the cutter.'"

A haircutter at heart, Scott Cole loves the effect of color and cut together. Seeing this as the future of hairdressing, Scott created COLORCUTTING USA, a continuing education company in Arizona that offers courses, video education, and tools for the hairdressing professional. With business partner and expert colorist Linda Yodice, Scott teaches how and why color works in relationship to cut designs, reducing the fear that many hairstylists have of the unknowns of coloring hair.

Like Paul Mitchell himself, Scott was born in Scotland, trained by Vidal Sassoon, and eventually moved to the United States to become a well known, highly respected hairdresser.

To bring out the best in a stylist's ability and creativity, Scott Cole believes the key is to inspire, motivate, and lift the hairdresser's self-esteem. A natural teacher who believes in continually educating himself, Scott enjoys learning from many different facets of life. The work of architectural great Frank Lloyd Wright and hairdresser friends Trevor Sorbie and Vidal Sassoon are just a few of his inspirations and mentors.

Throughout his ever-changing, always-growing career, Scott has been recognized by the beauty industry with such distinguished honors at the 1993 NAHA Multi-Cultural Hairdresser of the Year. You will find his work published in Elle, Modern Salon, Salon News, Ladies Home Journal, and Studio magazines.

Scott Cole Salon has been recognized as one of the top salons in the United States.

Scott divides his time between his salon in Atlanta, Georgia, his academy in Carefree, Arizona, his newly opened Paul Mitchell The School - Atlanta, and the Artistic Directorship for John Paul Mitchell Systems The Color. Although Scott is shifting his focus toward education, he knows that salons will never completely be out of his life, because the salon brings him back to the true reality of hairstyling.
